Which airport do we serve?

Economy Car Hire is never far away to help you get on the road once you‘ve arrived in Sicily, as the airports we cover stretch across the entire island:

Palermo Airport – If you want to explore the north and west of the island, fly to Palermo. Founded in 734BC by the Phoenicians, the island's capital is home to some amazing architecture and spectacular Baroque churches. Palermo Cathedral, San Cataldo’s Church, and Chiesa della Martorana are all well worth a visit. Be sure to take a walk along one of Palermo's medieval streets before sampling what's on offer on the stalls of the city's bustling market. Arancini are the popular Sicilian favourite.

Catania Airport – Fly into Catania if you want to visit Sicily’s southern and western coasts. The island’s second city, Catania stands out for its intellectual and cultured vibe and with its wide streets and simple layout, Catania is certainly calmer than Palermo. While you could spend your entire stay in the city centre itself - there are two lively markets to explore - the Etna Regional Park is just down the road and is home to the gigantic Mount Etna. An eruption by Etna in 1693 completely destroyed Catania and it was rebuilt in a Baroque style using mainly grey lava stone making it an extremely beautiful and unusual city.

Trapani Airport - For something a little different during your stay in Sicily, head to Trapani. A traditional port to the west of the island, this area has been the focus of the majority of Sicily's fishing industry for decades.

Montalbano’s Sicily

If you’re a fan of Andrea Camilleri’s popular detective, there’s much for you to explore in Sicily. Whilst Vigata is fictional and based on Camilleri’s home town of Porto Empedocle near Agrigento, Montalbano’s beachside house is actually a B&B in Marinella and easily visited.

There are a number of tours available which will guide you through the locations you’ve seen on TV and give you the opportunity to take in the unique scenery of Sicily. Alternatively, set off with a map and explore the locations at your own leisure.
