Getting to Macedonia

There are two major airports in Macedonia and Economy Car Hire can provide a vehicle at both.

The city centre of Macedonia's capital Skopje is within a 30 minute drive from Skopje Airport. A place where Eastern European stereotypes and surprising sights and sounds blend in astounding fashion, the city is just a stone's throw away from gorgeous Lake Matka and, should you want to do some rock climbing,  the Treska Canyon. For manmade sites, the Skopje Aquaduct, Kale fortress, and St Pantelejmon Monastery are definitely worthy of a visit.

Ohrid Airport – From here you can explore the “Pearl of the Balkans”, Ohrid city. It’s wonderful architecture and beautiful location has seen it placed on UNESCO’s World Inheritance list. Restaurants, cafés, and bars line the pretty streets of the Old Town while the striking Samuil’s Fortress keeps watch over the city from a hill above. Other sites of note include the ancient theatre that dates from 200BC, the Church of St John Kaneo, and the Bay of Bones.
