Airports in Cyprus

If you’re flying in to Larnaca Airport then the entire stretch of the south east coastline will be your playground. The city itself boasts plenty of interesting and historical wonders while the fabulous weather will be sure to coax you outside to the 8km of beaches.

Paphos Airport is a popular option with many Brits who want to holiday in the coastal city of Paphos or neighbouring Coral Bay. Sandwiched between the sea and the mountains, it's a great location for your holiday, offering the best of both worlds.

If you are visiting North Cyprus, Ercan Airport provides easy access to a relaxed and unspoilt part of the country. Sleepy villages and beautiful scenery prevail in this area making it a popular destination with those who are looking for a more relaxed holiday.

What to see & do in Cyprus

Cyprus is the 3rd largest island in the Mediterranean and as such, there’s plenty to see and do here. A hire car is a great way to explore this beautiful country and is usually the cheapest way to do so.

Make sure you visit some local tavernas and sample some of the fabulous local cuisine. Halloumi originates from Cyprus, whilst souvlakia and calamari are also hugely popular. There are some fantastic Cypriot wines on the market these days so why not take a wine tour?

Alternatively, make the most of Cyprus’ location and explore some of the fantastic diving opportunities along the coastline. Coral Bay and Protaras are both known for their interesting and varied dive sites.

Paphos in the far southwest of the island is the most popular destination for Brits. The town is divided into two with the waterside Káto Páfos built around an attractive fishing harbour. This is the old town and home to the majority of the resort facilities. Inland Ktíma on the other hand represents the main residential district. Whilst it used to be separated from the old town but development means the two are almost indistinguishable.

The city of Limassol makes for a fascinating day out and is located just a short distance from Larnaca Airport. Brimming with historical sites such as Limassol Castle and the Old Town, it's a step back in time and its old quarter features a small covered market, surrounded by tavernas and bars. There’s also a striking medieval castle and an excellent museum.

The capital city of Nicosia straddles the border between North and South Cyprus. Found inland away from the coast, it has a different atmosphere to some of the other cities here but there's still plenty to see and do.

Ayia Napa may have a reputation as a clubbers paradise. but recent action by the authorities has seen it become more sedate. If you’re after the clubbing experience, The Square is the place to be until the small hours. Alternatively relax in a taverna with a Metaxas after a long day bathing on the golden sands in the hot sun!
