So, if you need to hire a car in July, August or September, you must book now to avoid disappointment.

50% of Tourists Don’t Have Travel Insurance!
Recent studies have found that four in ten holidaymakers have lost baggage, suffered a medical emergency or been forced to cancel flights when travelling abroad. It has also been found that half of British tourists do not have travel insurance!
Do you have travel insurance? Do you know what you are covered for? Whether you have booked a package holiday, or made independent arrangements, Direct Travel Insurance will ensure that you are protected in any situation. If you frequently travel abroad, an annual policy should be considered. Many people opt to cover themselves exclusively for their trip dates. Starting a travel insurance policy with Direct Travel Insurance as soon as you have booked your holiday will protect you in the event of cancellation. Above all, make sure that you choose good quality cover, checking all exclusions; you do get what you pay for!
Worried About British Airways Strikes?
If you are flying with British Airways this summer, there is a chance that you may be affected by strike action. If you purchased your ticket before 10th May 2010, customers can rebook onto another BA flight to the same destination for up to 355 days after the date you were due to travel. BA currently state that you will not be charged for any such changes. Remember to be able to benefit from this; you must amend the date of the flight prior to your scheduled departure.
If you decide to amend your flight to a date outside of the strike period, and then find that the original flight will actually operate, BA will allow you to rebook onto the initial flight. They will not charge you any extra to do this, but of course it is subject to availability. Click here to check the status of your flight. If you are affected by BA strike action and need to amend your car hire booking as a result, click here to contact us.
Make the Most of Your Holiday Cash!
The pound has risen to a 18 month high against the Euro, meaning that your pound is now worth more! Economy Car Hire would suggest that customers buy at least half of their holiday cash in advance. This will protect you against the risk of the exchange rate falling.
Currency is very volatile at the moment. There is a real risk this boost will only be short-lived, so for peace of mind, and the chance of some extra cash for your holiday, purchase some Euros now!
