Many visitors are attracted to Malta for its clear blue waters, secluded bays, and sandy beaches. Malta also has a rich history, reflected in its medieval walled citadels and splendid baroque churches and palaces, which are great places to explore. There are no long distances to travel to see the sights and attractions in Malta and Gozo, so you will be able to get around and see the sights that interest you at your own pace.

Things to see and do

• There are plenty of opportunities for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving in Malta.
• Visit some of the most popular beaches are in the northern part of Malta, at Paradise Bay, Golden Bay, Mellieha Bay, Armier Bay and Ghajn Tuffieha Bay.
• Buy some local crafts, lace and knitwear from the doorways of houses and on the streets of Gozo Island.
• Eat fresh fish at the family-run tavernas while enjoying the sights of nets and colourfully pained boats crowding the waterfronts in the typical Maltese fishing communities such as Marsaxlokk, Birzebbugia and Marsacala which are sprawled along the coves and inlets at the southern most tip of Malta.
