Essential Driving Information
- Traffic drives on the left.
- Wear your seatbelt at all times in the front and rear of the vehicle.
- Children aged 14 years and under must sit in the rear of the vehicle and wear a seatbelt.
- If you have an accident, regardless of how minor, you must report it to the police and you must not move your vehicle.
- It is illegal to drive whilst using a mobile phone.
- Single yellow line indicates prohibited parking and parking there would render you liable to a fine.
- Jersey operates a "PayCard" system, which generally need to be used Monday – Saturday 08.00hrs – 17.00hrs (inclusive) however in some locations times can vary so check signs accordingly. They can be bought from any shop or garage that displays the parking card symbol.
- Green Lanes are a 50 mile network of roads with a 15MPH speed limit throughout Jersey. Walkers, cyclists and horse riders have priority on these roads.
- The blood alcohol limit is 80mg alcohol per 100ml blood.
