easyJet Announce New Check-in App

9th May 2013

Low cost airline easyJet have announced the release of a new check-in app for Android and iPhones. Following their recent announcement of plans to close check-in desks at airports, it seems the airline is doing all it can to make checking in before your flight quicker and easier.

The app is available through the Google Play store for Android users and through the App Store for iPhone users and will allow users to book flights, choose their seats, add an array of flight options including extra bags, save account details for future bookings, as well as track the status of their flights.

You will of course still need to drop your luggage off, however, if you are travelling with hand luggage only and have checked in using the app and printed your boarding card at home, you will be able to head straight for security at your departure airport.

The app does not currently support electronic boarding passes although it is reported that this is currently being trialled at a handful of airports including Manchester, Edinburgh, Southend and Stansted by the airline.

What do you think about the introduction of this new app? Do you have a smartphone? Will you use the app?
