BA Union Members Vote to Strike
24th January 2011Unite trade union members have voted in favour of further strike action. It has now been agreed that Unite must give BA 7 days’ notice of any strike and the current ballot is valid for 28 days. If strike action does not occur within this time frame, another ballot will have to be held.
BA has assured customers that during any strike action this year, all flights from London City and Gatwick Airport will run, along with all long-haul flights from Heathrow. It is likely that short-haul flights will be the worst affected during any industrial action.
The new leader of Unite has pledged to avoid any strikes over Easter weekend or the Royal wedding (see previous blog post.) In the meantime, if you wish to amend your car hire booking as a result of this, please contact us.
