Thousands of people flocked to Manchester Airport on Wednesday 1st September to see the Airbus A380 land for the first time. Emirates flight EK017 landed just after 12.25pm on the 1st September. From now on, the world’s largest commercial aeroplane will fly from Manchester Airport to Dubai daily.
£10m has been spent on upgrading the Airport in the last 18 months so it can accommodate the double decker plane. Although the jet has flown into Heathrow Airport since 2008, this is the first regional airport in the world to have a daily A380 service.
